MIND SET, THE NEW PSYCHOLOGY OF SUCCESS
This book is an excellent guide for anyone who wants to learn more about the mindsets and how they can be used to improve your life.
The book is divided into two parts: the first part explains what a mindset is and why it’s so important; the second part reveals some ways that you can change your mindset.
In the first part of Mindset, Carol Dweck explains how we can change our mindset and become better at what we do. She also tells us why we should focus on developing a growth mindset rather than a fixed mindset.
She then goes on to explain how our environment shapes our subconscious beliefs about ourselves, which in turn affects how we approach challenges and opportunities in life. She also shows us how these beliefs affect our level of success in life.
In the second part of Mindset, Carol Dweck reveals some strategies that can help us develop a growth mindset so that we become better at what we do (starting with ourselves). These strategies include: being open-minded towards feedback from others; believing that intelligence grows with effort; seeing mistakes as opportunities for learning; learning from failures.

Who is Carol Dweck?
She’s a Stanford University psychologist who has been studying mindsets for decades. She’s known for her research on fixed vs. growth mindsets, as well as for her work about the effects of praise on children’s motivation and self-esteem (and it turns out that the type of praise matters!). Her book Mindset was published in 2006 and became a New York Times bestseller in 2008. In 2010 she won the American Psychological Association Award for Distinguished Scientific Early Career Contributions to Psychology (which is pretty awesome).
